OUR CHAMP OF CHAMPS

SATURDAY the 3rd of March, the day that athletes form all schools in the southern hemisphere who have been practicing for, “the Southern zonal alethic competition”,  took place at Athlone Stadium in Vygieskraal. Our eight athletes that  were able to make it through after competing in the previous Thursday’s gruelling and very tough tournament at the Bellville Veladrome. We are so proud of them for making it this far and were able to compete representing not only themselves but also the school at this event. The athletes were all excited and nervous for the day’s event and Ms Alexander said that “that they must just do their best and try their hardest” (she seemed even as excited as most of the athletes).  Well after the days running, jumping and throwing, though not everyone could make it through we were very proud of them and even more proud of those that made it to the next competition on Saturdays the 10th of march “again” at the Bellville Veladrome and maybe have a chance for going to Westen province, so we wish them the best and do our school proud and we know you can do anything if you just put mind to it.

Derby Day

The Derby day took place on the 18th of February; where all the school teams competed against not only other schools, but also each other in the chance of adding to the house points and winning matches. The was a large verity of sports on that day such as softball, basketball and cricket. The teams were excited about the day and the teachers have been planning this day making sure that everyone could be accommodated and that everything went as smoothly as possible.

 SOFTBALL:
The first team and the u/14 played a very good game agent Rhoads and even thought the other schools team was down by nearly three players they weren’t going down without a fight and played a good game all together and the 1st team succeeded a verysuccessful win.

BASKETBALL:
The boys and girls for our schools 1st u/16 and the u/14 teams played against theWestern Province Sport School and Rhodes High school. The boys played a variety of match’s against the schools and tried their best and came very far even though they didn’t win all their matches they enjoyed the day and played at their best. The girls 1st team played their only match of the day against theWesternProvince School of Sport, they were a very strong team and seemed to be running circles around our girls but they fought back very strong even though they didn’t win. It was a very good experience for our team and everyone enjoyed it.

CRICKET:
All our cricket teams played against Steenberg, Strandfontein, and Western Province School of Sport and Bonteheuwel. The day was full of action packed “4rs”, wicket and the often midair catch and there was no lack of action the boys looked like professionals and played like them. The crowds seemed all excited and at the end of all the matches they won the T10 tournament cup.
At the end of the day all our teams did really well and the was a lot of house points added to the previous once and the teachers and learners all enjoyed it and there were no incidents and everyone went home and happy about what they achieved and the goals they reached.
